USA,
I cant find java moss anywhere! My crap lfs says that they will get some on certain days, but when ever we call they say they couldnt get it or forgot.

My mom think shipping is to much, even though we would use the 9.99 one as the plant should be fine without light for a day or two, as when we go on vacation they wont get any lights at all, so its no diffrent.

Is java moss a rare plant? Because it definetly seems like it is.

it comes and goes...no chain stores around me ever carry it, but a small lfs gets it in every few weeks for $2 a small container of it

Ive been going to my lfs for a year now, and they havent sold it even once. They wont even order it

try ebay....i got my java moss, xmas moss and riccia all from their with ease.

I have never found it in any LFS.

I have always brought it off an online plant site.

I'm not sure if I have Java moss or Java fern in my fish tank, but my local fish store has both I believe. Well, depends on the day... the day I got my java something they had both :) LOVE my local fish store!

I couldn't find the stuff for a long time. Now I'm seeing it at a few different LFS.

I just picked up a fat sack of it last Friday for $5.00. As I type this, I'm tempted to go back and buy more. I noticed I'm starting to hoard the stuff. -_-

I called quite a few stores, and so far noone in the state has any

Java Noss is hard to find Here.
An LPS near work thinks java moss is a Nusiance. It grows in all there tanks. I try and go in B4 they scrape it all off and Chuck it.

Online is best, if mom thinks the shipping is too much then take the 9.99 out of your pocket. You should be happy with what you get and i would imagine if the 2 days with no light is a problem the retailer would tell you.

wrs, pm me your address and I'll send you some java moss in a zip lock baggie, no worry about shipping, if you're patient with me actually getting around to the post office.

I do have snails in my tank so you might want to rinse it off well and probally wouldn't hurt to quaranteen it for a week or two if you don't want snails.

It took me a while to find it. I was at petco in another town an hour from my home. I saw these so called moss balls or java moss wraped around a ball. I know what it was and took it home. It has out grown the ball it was on and is doing great. It is not a rare plant just that most people don't find it pretty so it does not sell well in stores. So stroes don't bother with it.
