Is Itch The Same As Gill Flukes?

i believe my blue acara has gill flukes and at the time i thought that itch and flukes are the same thing, i just wanted to check, i have just treated the tank with protozin and raised my tank temp to 31c. is there anything else i can do?

Gill flukes are a parasite but a nasty one as they cause bacterial infections.

Signs of flukes are.
Pale gills with excess slime, red inflamed gills. Or bleeding gills.
Opaque body with excess slime.
Flicking and rubbing.
Erratic swimming or darting.
Laboured breathing or gasping at surface of tank.
Swimming in a jerky movement.
Red sores on the body of the fish.
Spitting food out.
Weightloss sometimes.
