sorry if this is in the wrong section but it is kinda fish related and im just so angry i wanna scream!

any how im currently selling an aqua 40 black small aquarium. i bought it just a few months back with stand and equipment for €80. im put it up for sale for just €35 or will swap for fish of that value

ive had this woman mailing trying to make a deal with me, after a week of haggling we came to the agreement that i would get from her 20 black molly babies, 20 guppy babies (all babies 4 weeks old) a breeding couple of dalmation mollies and 5 silver molly babys (2 weeks old), she also offered to put €5 towards it incase any of the babys died. for days i didnt hear from her so mailed to see if she was still interested (there was other people interested paying cash only but she was first so i offered it to her) she said she was so asked when she could collect. she asked me to take it to her, which i said if she didnt live to far away i would (within 20km) turns out she lives the other side of belgium so i declined. she said she'd drive over then. again 5 days went past no word so i mailed her yesterday to say look sorry but i dont think your serious, your mucking me around sorry if im wrong but ive waited 3 weeks.
she mailed back today saying she was waiting for me to bring the aquarium, i forwarded the mails where id explained i couldnt it was too far and she'd agreed to come. she was like oh yeah i forgot. anyhow now shes 'changed' the agreement.
as she has to collect she will only give 10 baby guppys, 20 baby black mollys and the breeding couple.

i find this really cheeky (especially as id even put in the advertisement buyer collects)

do you think sometimes its just not worth selling 2nd hand stuff online?? how do you deal with it?

i seem to get people like this every month who muck you around, then by the time you find out they dont really want it, no one else is interested in the item anymore! grrrrr vent over!

I would just tell her straight, either she collects it as agreed with the agreed swap items/cash or you offer it to someone else. Dont mess around with them.

I know the feeling, I had 2 old air pumps for sale, only asking £4 each, I have had one chap phone me, I had to plug them both in so he can listen to how loud they are down the phone, then he said "I can barely hear them are they noisy?"

I think you're better off putting 2nd hand tanks up for sale in the local paper to be honest. Then you can state a price and mainly genuine people will reply. Either that or keep them as quarantine/fry tanks. Stick them in a corner somewhere, you never know when they might come in handy!

lol I kept my spare tanks as a just in case. I now have them up and running and dont have a spare

the problem is i have sooo many 'spare' tanks im having to sell them to make room
i would do a garage sale but i live in the middle of nowhere so nobody would come!
now i have the added worry of her turning nasty and putting false bids on my other listings (not ebay but she can still auction wreck)

yeah i sold my jewel i bar on the internet when they asked a quistion i replied everytime then i said whats going on and they said that i hadnt contacted them at all and that i was just messing them around and then said this transactions over so i now have it in my hall and i was in contact but they said i wasnt

I would tell her if she wants it come and get it, nothing changes with the deal, its stated as that if you dont like it go somewhere else, after all she wanted the tank,so you come and get it, otherwise that will be another 30 on top for fuel and time, I myself am having the problem with someone wanting my tinfoil barbs, keeps putting it on to the next week,oh could you bring them to me,1.5hr drive..yes mate for another 40pounds....otherwise there staying with me

i have sold a lot of tanks etc on ebay in the past.. and generally people want to screw you for all they can
i sold one of my biorbs 30`s before moving to newport and the cheeky buyer ( only paid 40 for it anyway) even blackmailed me into buying and sending a bottle of declorinator and some food.. like a fool i did for the sake of feedback..that ebay account is now closed,as i couldnt hack the greediness of people anymore... i have recently opened a new one.. its a no nonsense account!! lol

you stick to your guns and make her stick to the intial agreement!

I have similar issues with eBay, and it doesn't just apply to buyers - some sellers are just as bad "I sent it last week" 2 months later it still hasn't arrived, and when it does it turns out they sent it about 3 days before.

whenever I sell somethign online, whoever picks it up first gets it.
I put up a pair of AC/DC tickets for sale online, 75% of cost price.

some guy said he's gonna buy them for sure, tells me we should meet up before the concert to do the trade (this was 5 days before the show). give him my cell number and told him to call me the next day to set up a meeting point. guy never calls me or emailed me back. two days later i sold tickets to someone else.

same thing for a dishwasher. Everybody wants to buy used stuff, they deal it and then don't want it.

ebay is good for that as it is a legal contract in most countries.

dunno about the legal part i mean how do u go about applying the lagal part, i recently bid on and won a sofa bed for £1,47 ( have to admit i was willing to go to £50 for it) but the seller emailed me and demanded that i pay £15 or she wouldnt sell! not a lot i could do about that
