Is It Worth Putting In A Complaint?

excelent news olly.looks like you will get sorted out,and good on p@h,they sorted my problem out for me,its nice to know they will do there best when things go wrong, again hope you get sorted, kenny

It doesn't necssarily have to be that they were dipped in copper itself. If they were dipped in something that contained copper, even in small amounts, you could run into problems. A product like "Had A Snail" is about 6% copper.

I may be wrong on this but I believe that if a glass tank has copper used in it, the copper can become attached or absorbed by the silicone and leech out into the tank again. I have seen that warning to someone planning to change a FW tank into a SW tank in reference to their getting inverts for it. So een if they just used a product lke that in their plant storage tank, it coujls still cause problems and be on the plants.

now that is worth knowing :good: :good: :good: :good: .

2 words - - kick off .....

if you get no joy from en email/letter - keep kicking off until they give you credit/appology.....

well done for not going in there and kicking fof straight away though..... i would have :P

A shame in a way, but mainly confusing as hell...

The copper tests were negative :S

Supprise supprise  Did you see the results, or did you just get told via e-mail/phone?

humm good point. one of the reasons i suggested you do a, surreptitious, test yourself. even if you could not use the results to further your claim. you would have the peace of mind, as a result, of having seen them yourself.

They showed me the copper testing vial. (marine test for free copper) and i couldnt make my mind up wether it was negative or 0.1ppm but i think it was probably negative. Obviously i didnt see where this water came from though.
I took it home and tried it in my aquarium (after about a %50 water change on the night of it all) it read 0.

So they have agreed to order me about 30 shrimp...but they can only get amano shrimp in..which im not sure i want to be honest!

I'm slowly working my way towards a muli' tank...when i can source some. So im not sure i even want shrimp anymore. Although the algae growth since they died has been considerable!

Haha touche'.

Anyway yeah..for all the bad press P@H get...the customer service dept have been excellent.

Although i still don't know why 40 shrimp died in an hour.

It had to either be poisoning or lack of oxygen realy with the speed and numbers.... Question now is which, and what exactly... Any other stock in there at the time?

Yep, 7 white clouds, 1 threespot and a few cories.
All of which are behaving totally normal, infact the white clouds have since spawned in said plants!!
There was about 40 cherry shrimp, one amano and one ghost. All dead.

The ghost shrimp took longest to die, slowly turning white, swimming then falling on it's back, then when a fish had a go it would swim off again and then when it got hit by the filter current simply turn onto it's back.

No fish were gasping for air or anything else, they were simply picking off the dead cherries.
