Is It Us Or Uk Gallon?

i'm getting a juwel vision 260 lite tank and have 2 completely different gallons figures. what one do fish keepers use?

use what you want however i think most ppl use US gall, however if you state what type of gallon when posting everyone should know what your on about

US is commonly used for 'rules' like 12 per gallon and for calculating wpg. however as long as you state which one you are referring to when you post people should work things out correctly.

Most Uk fishkeepers use Imp gallons.

Americans use US gallons.

Most people on here (regardless of origin) use US gallons as it makes their tank sound bigger.

somewhat cynical point of view andy (which really surprises me )

i don't think that's why people use US gallons, it's just commonly used with some of the 'rules' or calculations fishkeepers make descisions based on, so stands to reason to use it regularly. no point swapping and changing between the two systems, just gets confusing

For the fishless cycle thread is 2-4 drops per 5 gallon in us or uk gallons? Judging from what uve said im guessing its us but just want to be on the safe side

US galls is pretty much always used as miss wiggle has said, so go by US galls :0

260 liters = 68.6 US Galls or 57.1 UK Galls

so if i was going by uk i would only be able to have 1 oscar? and us i may possibly be able to have 2?

I think you would be pushing it for two...from what I've seen you want at least a 300 litre tank for 2.

lol, no it doesn't work like that, minimum tank sizes are generally given in us gallons. min for an O is 75 us gallons.

u say minimum but wont dimension affect things? cuz i think the juwel 260 has a decent height aswell.
