Hi

My tank is 60 x 38 x 35
currently having a t5 24w x 4 lamp
is the lighting too much for my tank?

Dosing Lushgro aqua 2.5ml daily
Seachem Nitrogen 2ml daily
Seachem excel 2ml daily
Seachem flourish 2ml daily
Seachem Equal 1 tsp daily

DIY Co2

Somehow don't see any obvious growth on the plant...

So any 1 know what the problem?

Hi,
the most light people use on a tank that size is usually 2 x 24w T5
this is with Estimatve Index dosing (Non-limiting nutrients is ensured) and with pressurized CO2 (DIY fluctuates too much, and it cannot supply enough)

And on those 2 last points is why you are not seeing much growth, because there isnt enough to supply the demand. Because of this, there is also more risk of algae.

i had a similar setup to yours: a T5-HO light system that was giving too much light for the plants, and 2 DIY co2 systems. i was also adding seachem liquid ferts. i was getting horrible algae. i downgraded to a single bulb, t10 system with much much lower light than before, but kept the co2 and nutrients going. algae went down and almost went away completely, and lo and behold the plants started to grow.

i will say that the problem is you have too much light and not enough C02. either get a pressurized CO2 system (good for a tank your size anyways) or downgrade your lighting...and i mean, get rid of the T5s altogether and go to T8 or T10...and then you'll see a difference.
