Hi guys.
I currently have 2 batch of platy fry, one batch will be 1 month old tomorrow and second is about 2 weeks old, and all of them in 29 gal atm. So considering its been a month I’m assuming the mother about to give birth again and I have no more room for breeding nets and traps. I was going to raise the original batch and let the rest of fry to come to play the survival game. I do have a 10 gal tank, but have no room to put it so I’m going to eventually release the fry in the same tank (29gal). How safe you think it is to release 1 month old fry into the main tank--? I have 5 platy's, 3 corydoras, 1 otto and 1 Raphael catfish (he grew huge in last 2 month, maybe about 3-4 inches now). So most of the fish in tank are peaceful (although I probably have the most aggressive platy's ever conceived). Some of the fry are quiet huge even compare to same batch (some about 3x bigger than their brothers and sisters). So I’m thinking to release the relatively big fry to main tank and put the smallest ones with 2 week old ones, considering they about the same size. Also one more concern is filters. I have 2 HOB's: Whisper Power 30 and Aqueon 10 along with Ehiem 2213 running in the same tank and wondering if I need to take any precautions to insure fry safety?

Thank you very much in advance.
Best Regards

I'm no expert, but I have read that the fry need to be larger than the mouth of the biggest fish.
I'm worried about this too, actually. I have 2 female platys and one male so... :shifty:
