my gf's guppies had babies a month ago and we're nursing them in a breeding trap because tehy are so small and will get eaten.

my guppy mama finally let her babies out today and it doesnt seem like i need a fry breeding net to keep them safe. these babies came out large, some even larger than the month old fry at my gf's house. both the mamas are the same size also. my mama guppy still seems to have a dark gravid spot though, not sure if she's done or not. Only 12 came out so far and they're just swimming around checking out the tank :fun:

does 12 seem a bit of a low baby count?

:) Female guppies produce smaller batches of fry the first few times of pregnancy, but they gradully increase. My female guppy delivered 14 fry her first time in my tank, so it's not uncommon for them to have such a low number. Good luck with the fry!

If they are not getting harassed in the tank, there is no need to put them into a breeding net. Good luck!
