just seen an advertisement for some cheap kribensis couples and would love to go for them.
trouble is the guy appears to be keeping them in slightly brackish water??? (1.004/05?)

is there anyway i could acclimitise them to accept tropical freshwater conditions or will it be too much of a shock

They can be gradually acclimatised to freshwater although tbh i'm not sure what would be the best way of going about it,
If you can repost this in the brackish forum, i'm sure Neale Monks will give you the answer

drop the specific gravity over 4 or 5 days, by doing a 20% water change the first day, a 25% the second a 35% the third 50% fourth and a 505 the fifth and then another 50% the next day. then i would put them into fresh water
