Is It Possible To..?

Is it possible to reverse finrot- Assuming its caused by a dirty tank, if you remove the fish to a hospital tank, completely clean out the old tank, cycle it for 2 weeks then put the fish back in?
Will the finrot eventually heal itself without medication if the tank has a healthy level of baterica etc etc?

It can, it will take a while though it took my fish around 6-8 months to get them back completely.

Finrot is mainly caused by bad water quality, but it also can be a secondary bacterial infection.
Once fish had finrot there chances they will get it again.
Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Have you used a bacterial med for the finrot.

Okay.. well that sucks.
My Tank is 200L.
I only have 1 large angel, one platty and a tiny pleco, by choice =)
I know PH is good, not sure on anything else, waiting for the advanced kit to turn up in the mail, hopefully tomorrow
Yeah, im using MelaFix, one reccomended by 2 fish shops, also more of that in the mail.
All fish are currently being treated in hopsital tank while 200L is going through a fishless cycle (so far 1 and a 1/2 weeks in + plants- not touching it untill i get my kits)

Melafix is only good once fins are healing, its no good on bacterial finrot.

Well good news, I got some Primafix, a BIG bottle, so ive dosed that.

All my Stats are fine.
PH is at 7
No2=0
No3= 20 (acceptable yes?)
Hardness= 30

If this does work, what can you reccomend for a heavy duty finrot fixer? Bearing in mind that im from Australia and dont get the range of products that America do.

I would of gone for a bacterial med like maracyn.
