Is It Okay To Use Glass In A Tank?

I've been looking for some kind of tunnel that I can use to make a java moss cave but I can't seem to find anything the right size. Everything is either way too small or way too big. I have a glass jar that a scented candle came in that would be the perfect size. Is it okay to use something like this after giving it a very thorough wash and run through the dishwasher?

I don't think java moss would stick to glass though.  One way to make a cave is to use mess and weave the java moss onto it.  You could stick mesh together into a tunnel using art mesh and fishing line (or plastic string) then weave on the java moss... in time it would grow and cover the mesh.

Have moss will grow on glass as it is growing on my tank sides.
