Is it easy to breed algae eaters? if so whats the most easy kind to breed?

How do you tell the kind thats the most easy to breed apart from female and male?

algae eater as in CAE? Or, any fish that eats algae??

CAE - no idea
SAE - no idea, i think all of these are wild caught
Bristlenose pleco - doable, most are tank bred
otos - quite hard but doable, most are wild caught

I think you should be able to breed a large variety of pleco.


If you want to broaden your list of fish a little, Corydora are catfish, they eat algae (when fed directly), but don't have a "suction cup" type mouth. They are can be bred pretty easily.
