I have been medicating for almost a week now, heat has been above 86 for 2 weeks.

Chocolate gourami seems to be scratching against things more frequently then a few days ago. I just redosed yesterday evening. Does this mean it is getting worse? Went from 4 or 5 spots to now one on the fin which wont go away.

Can I add salt to water or is this not good for the chocolate? Thanks, Ryan

A picture would really help here actually. Is that possible? A spot that wont go away could be a secondary issue from something else...I have had this happen when my fish have had velvet...its like a small fungus spot. It goes away when I treat the right problem.

Were the spots small and salt like??

Yes they looked like salt. The tank may still be cycling though i added media from an established tank. Have some plants.

Tested water last night ammonia nitrates and nitrites all zero.

At this point i really dont know the source of the stress.

I had the opportunity to add another chocolaye gourami and he got ick overnight. All this while i am currently treating for it! How could it spread? None of the other fish have it now.

I even switched to AP quick cure.

It can be in their gills and you wouldn't know. That's why most of the ich medications say to treat for 4 days or so after the last spot has disappeared.

Thank you. I am certain the original carrier has had the same ich spot for at least two weeks now on his fin. Other things ive read say it cant be ich for that long( the same spot) He is the one who is still flashing. Im going out today to buy a hospital tank.
