is hot glue ok?

is hot glue ok to be in an aquarium or will it poison the water?

Could you use aquarium safe silicon sealant instead?

and I wouldn't risk it how glue and stuff like that can be toxic. I'd stay with sillicone i know it takes longer to set but it's 100% safe (if you get aquatic sillicone)

Yes, hot glue is usually toxic. It's better to stick with regular aquarium sealant.

WHY is the main question. as said eirlier sillicone is better.
Sillicone is stronger because it will flex a little bit more so it wont snap.

Yeah I agree, it's too risky, go with aquarium sealant, and you've got a better chance of keeping the fish alive and stuff.

Why hot glue? Probably to glue some rocks or decorations together but the sillicone is definitely better in every respect for that kind of project.

Hot glue doesn't stay attached to the surface under water (speaking from a pool owner perpective) it tends to peal away from the surface after prolonged exposure to water. I used it on my pool latter and it started pealing away in under 5 hours plus I agree it is most likely toxic to the fish.

I agree with the others. I use aquarium silicon to stick my rocks together. It works like a charm, and is not that expensive.

well to go against what some ppl are saying here, there is a non-toxic version of hot glue that i have used in my aquarium and have had no probs, ive never used aquarium sealent but im sure its better.
