i just converted my 75 gallon saltwater set up into a freshwater setup and i have let the water cycle and filter for about 3 weeks. so i decided to put what is left (1 giant danio & 3 neon tetras) in my small 20 gallon into the large 75 gallon in hopes to start the whole ammonia/nitrate/nitrite process thingy.

the neon tetras are doing fine and are schooling, but the danio seems to be swimming or "pacing" through the current of my pump. im guessing that its just the fish going back to native and basic instincs to swim up the current of the water. is that normal or "natural behaivior for this fish?

I have had fish do that before and they just seem to just get over it. I think it is just because my heater is close to my filter but in my other tank it was always when they were getting old and weak and couldn't out swim the current of the filter and finally when i went to bed the poor fish got sucked in the current and got suffocated...

but the danio

The danio? as in just one?
all danios are schooling fish and need to be in groups of at least 5,
this is why you are seeing unatural behaviour.
