So it couldnt be a long finned female? Dont super deltas produce bubblenests. Thanks for the comment lisie :)

The fins wouldnt be that long if it was a female, its a male, not all males make nests, one of mine never has. Its part of their breeding ritual, if he doesnt feel like it, or isnt overly happy in his surroundings he wont make a nest. He's similar to one of mine although a different shade.

Definately a male. Females aren't nearly as colorful either, and all his fins are way too long for a female.

Some females do have longer fins, but those are definitely too long for a female. For the future, the (usually) tell-tale sign of a female is a white dot right behind the ventral fins, called an ovipositor. If there's no ovipositor, it's a male. :)

I was going to say what they said (about the ovipositor) plus "That's a really pretty betta :good: !"

It's a boy; personally, the anal tipped me off.. dunno why. Also, I had a male betta that had an oviposter. However, he had a tumor when we bought him, didn't realize it though and he just passed on. :byebye: He had it for a long time; probably a good few months. However, my point is males can have oviposters.. I've had quite a few with them, in fact.

Edit: And females build bubblenests, almost all of my females have, at one point in their life..
