I have some baby Ellioti (about 30-40 still alive) and have been adding nutrafin max for them. I have an aqua style 620T so by the time the food gets to the bottom most of the fish have eaten it, so i've been putting the food in a net taking it down to the bottom where the babies are and shaking the food out for them. I was just wondering because the other fish eat the food too if it is bad for them?

The parents seem to be doing really well at looking after them, their not even 2" and their making love. only had them for 2 days before they layed the first bunch of eggs lol

I think they will be fine. The baby food probably has growth enhancing ingredients and extra nutrients etc. So nothing that isn't good for the adults to. Just probably more costly for you.

Thanks :)
well the food was on offer for £2 so not too bad :) hopefully these babies grow so I can keep some and sell the rest :p

a few months ago I wanted to get that tank you have as my house is undergoing some work but me and my dad agreed to get the aquastyle 980 and put it in my living room. The aquastyle 620T is the tallest tank in the aquastyle series and yes the food wont reach the bottom but i would say it isnt bad for the adults but it may make them grow faster if you are giving the babys food high in protien.

P.S: can you give me some info on how it is like the filter set up and sound from it :good:

I currently have a aquastart 320 which i wish to upgrade and i have one 5 day old guppy fry which survived being eaten and is under my moss ball the whole time. i also have five 6 week old fry in a hatchery getting their colour. You could get a hatchery for you fry

Hey, zain611 thanks for the help.

Yeah i do really like the tank, i initially ordered the 620 from my lfs and when i went to pick it up the person behind the counter gave me the 620t so not too bad :L
I also bought the cabinet for it too and both are in black. As the tanks in my room i am always trying to make it as quite as possible and most of the time you can barely hear it only the motor sometimes.
IMO it is all about getting the balance right with the filters and the filter outlet thingy, on the outlet plastic bit which you can angle where you want there is a elevated hole on the top which if isnt covered by water or by blocking it somehow will suck air through and make a fair amount of noise :/
I have also found that when you do a water change and clean the motor or even if you knock it sometimes it will start making a funny noise where it goes unbalanced and starts to vibrate, all you have to do is move it until it stops but yeah.

When doing a filter change though it is so easy, i take the light housing off turn the pump off and fill my bucket half way, take all the filters out, clean them, i also clean the tube coming from the motor which sprays on the filter. put them back into place and carry on changing the water. its so easy lol.

Hope this all made sense haha, il take some pictures if you like.

Cheers
