jewels might even make it to your list

LMAO!!! Yep, you did. Good choices but I wouldn't add the jewels if they are Hemichromis bimaculatus tho. Other than that I agree with my man juan.

i heard these dig up plants and everything and may even kill other fish because they are so aggressive when breeding, after breeding do they calm down again?

here's a link to some info on the two points you mentioned : Kribs

They were my first breeding project and were not aggressive to the tetras I had as dither fish in the tank cos the kribs carve out their territory on the bottom of the tank.

Ken

I would have mentioned kribs too but there seems to be alot of confusion on this forum as to weither they are sa/ca or african (which they are african) and I personally don't like to mix it is bad enough that I need a pelco in my 75 I would much raither get rid of the two of them.

Rams spawn really easily but getting the eggs to actually hatch is a different story. There are a few things that usually go wrong.

1: the other community fish eat the eggs

2: They get fungus from high P.H. or other un-perfect water conditions.

3: The eggs arent fertile and turn white. I noticed that male rams aren't very good at fertalizing eggs, especially when their young.

Sorry Juan is right, kribs are african, I came to this post through the 'view new topics' thingy so didnt realise it was new worlds you were looking for. On the other hand, Kribs are west africans and enjoy the same kind of water as a lot of new world fish and so make pretty good tankmates.
