I didnt know if the salt in the water had an effect on oxygen or not. I thought i remember somewhere it recomended adding oxygen as salt levels were increased. Any thoughts?

Actually, brackish and salt tanks do hold less oxygen than freshwater tanks. So lots of surface agitation is reccomended (unless planted of course).

thank you, added a small bubble curtain in the tank and little guy seems to love playing in the bubbles. So at least giving him something to do if nothing else

Bubble wands do little for oxygen exchange, though they are decorative. If you try removing the wand from the airline tubing and siliconing the tube the back of the glass it will make nice big bubbles and lots of surface agitation. You even get that nice LFS feel when you hear the "ploob ploob" sound  .

Waterfall type filtration devices work well too. especially if you keep the water level slightly below the level of the waterfall chute.
