Iron In Rocks

hi guys, i've got some nice looking rock just behind my workplace, i dunno what its called but its got iron in it, what effect will it have on my tankwater? ta, D.

the iron will rust (oxidise) and remove oxygen from the water. off the top of my head there, but im sure there's more it'll do

Algae will also grow thanks to the iron content and it might cause some other unintended side effects.

Don't know but plants use iron so get one of the rocks stick it in a small tank with plants and see if they like it .
