one of my friends has an angel fish in his tank, but would like to add another as he was talking to his lfs about some locally bred very nice sounding strains. his angel is not big, and hes had it about a year or so.

what chance has he of introducing a new, smaller angel into the tank ? the tank is suitable in every way last time i was round his, pretty sure nothings changed. hes only got one because one of the 2 he brought died a while back. theres plenty of territory etc, hiding places.

What size tank? How planted/decorated?

Angels being cichlids would tend to attack any new angels addedto their tank. You could end up with a constant "war" situation. It;s best to add two new angels at the same time if you can to reduce aggression and bullying. Also best to follow usual cichlid procedure of temporarily removing original angel to spare tank (or bucket) rearranging the tank so former territories no longer exist and then introducing old and new angels into tank at the same time.
