:) Hi, I'm new to the forum and fairly new to tropical fish keeping. I have a 10 uk gall tank which was set up for about a year 3 years ago. The nitrite in the tap water where we used to live was lethal to the fish I had in the tank (a little knowledge being a dangerous thing, I religiously did my water changes not realising that the water I was taking out was better than the water I waws putting in!) Now we have moved and the tank has been set up for about 6 months. My problem has been the nitrite which I think I am keeping under control now. For my 50th birthday - this March, my husband has bought me a 60 uk gall tank. I am feeling a little daunted about water changes etc and will be asking for any tips in another posting. I live in Hemel Hempstead, Herts, UK. I am married with 2 children aged 14 and 11 who are also keen on keeping fish. We have about 20 goldfish in our pond in the garden, 4 of which started out in the 10 uk gall tank (after the first lot of tropicals went).

Hi Eve
Welcome to the forums.
I think a lot of us made the same mistakes.Ikilled tons of goldfish doing the same thing.
Good luck with the new tank.A 60 g will give you far more options and ,believe it or not, will be easier to keep than a 10g :D
