I have just bought a companion for my oscar since the tinfoil died and i chose a Kribensis which i was told would be best suited for him for now.

Oscar has been very active and swimming about but i spotted the Kribensis was chasing him about quite a bit and now oscar is staying in the corner top of my tank and not moving, no matter what i do. when i open the tank top he used to come over to where my hand was and brushed against it but now he wont move, its like hes frozen.

Is this normal? is he ok?

My previous oscar and Konvicts used to fight like this but my oscar was fully grown as were the konvicts.

these two are both babies.

i have been checking the levels daily and changed the water 25% incase its something to do with that but its still not helped :(

when my kribs were jsut getting used to each other, the male sent the female hiding in the top corner. i removed him for awhile and soon they were able to get along.. kribs are pairing fish so idk why an oscar would be a good idea, i think another oscar would be better? but dont take my word

I was considering another oscar but i was told its better to keep 3 oscars instead of two because there is always a strong and weak - two weak oscars divide the brunt of the torment from the strong oscar instead of it being just one but i would think my 85g tank would look very crowded with 3 oscars

i was advised the Kribensis would be a fish that could grow with the oscar and stand up for himself but mines seems to be bullying it :(

might give them another hour together to see what happens - the Kribensis is now hidden itself under the ornament and oscar is slowly drifting about the top
if it gets worse i might just remove the Kribensis
