Today I bought a 24W interpet PC starter and daylight bulb for my ViAqua 10 gallon planted tank.

Before the upgrade I had the original 10W bulb which was a little dull, so after a bit of research on 'ere I realised the above unit will just about squeeze into the existing hood with a bit of DIY.

The unit before mod:

2.4WPG, and got change from £25 :good:

That was a really clean looking installation. Very nice! Your plants look very healthy.

Thanks!

Am keeping a close eye on CO2 levels or the shrimp are going to be kept busy with an algae bloom

I'd rephrase this as:

Am keeping a close eye on CO2 levels or the shrimp are going to be ... dead. Keep watching The levels

Green is fine. What I mean is as pre normal yellow is bad.

But if you see yellow the shrimps will go first as they're so sensitive, while the fish will still be gasping for a while before they go.

So keep an eye on them.

I have a newly installed CO2 pressurised set and also have 10 shrimp (I think, they hide non stop) and as you know newer sets can take their time to settle so I am watching the drop checker like a hawk at the mo. lol
