i got a keyhole about 2 months ago, and for the past 3 weeks haven't seen him eating and acting very shy (hiding stressed colours), although his stomach is still quite round so i wasn't worried.
now my blue acara has slowly stopped eating over the past 2 weeks and now has a sunken stomach
he has started flicking his fins a bit every now and again the rest of the time he keeps his dorsal fin completely down (unusual for him)
my rainbow cichlid is starting to act a bit finicky too, although he doesn't stop eating
my angel, 2nd keyhole and bolivian rams are acting normal

i feed frozen brine shrimp and colour bits.
i just bought a new pack of brine shrimp, maybe it defrosted a little bit in the car (5 mins from shop to my freezer)
but the keyhole was showing these symptoms before that

temp 26C
pH 6.9
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
weekly water changes of 30%

this tank has been running for over 6 months, i am currently running 2 filters (aqua one 104f and a 102f)

i'm thinking of either daily 30% water changes for this tank. or setting up my spare 60L tank for the sick fishes and treating with meds (although at this stage don't know what to treat for).

How many gallons is the tank.
How many fish and which type.

It could be internal parasites to a bacterial infection.

What does it look like when the fish to to the toilet.
Is there anus enlarged or red and inflamed.
Any fish swim on there sides.
Any worms prutruding from the anus.
Any fish have bent spines.

Any signs of excess mucas or a greyish film on the fish, darting, erratic swimming, laboured breathing or gasping.
What do the fish gills look like.

one other thing is that the blue acara and keyhole and holding their dorsal fins clamped down (occasionally flicking)

Ok.
It still pointing towards internal or external parasites.
Fish tend not to flick with bacterial infections.

Is it possible to buy an internal wormer in australia.

oooh, i'm not sure i've never needed one. i hope its not too expencive :X i'll have a look this afternoon

EDIT
since i'm not entirely sure whats wrong i'm going to do daily water changes and if theres no improvement after 4 days then i'm going to treat for internal parasites.

another edit

half way through my first water change and accidentally knocked some pellets that were on the lid into the tank and the BA was eating them :D

LOL.
Let me know how you get on.

theres been no improvement, the BA is still eating a little bit but not pooping very well, i'm going to go get an internal parasite med

edit: there was only 1 internal parasites treatment which are tabs containing 100mg of praziquantel so i'm gonna try it

Ok.
Let me know how you get on.
Good Luck.

ok well i've done 2 rounds of treatment 7 days apart (and 3 or 4 30-50% water changes). effected fish are showing an interest in eating again (though not eating much) and are swimming around as if they were healthy (previously weren't) and the clamped dorsal finnage is dissapearing. but they're still not pooing much, and when they do its white and stringy

any ideas?

Give them some blanched deshelled pea's help flush out their systems encourage them to eat more and might help the med get through their system better

whats blanched mean? and yeah i'm hand feeding the blue acara to make sure he's getting food, half a cube of brine shrimp every day or two. he wont eat anything else. but yeah i'll give peas a try

Blanched means soften the veg a few minutes in boiling water.
