fry_forever!
Fish Herder
Hey guys. For the past couple of months, my fish have been skinny, not having babies, and the most annoying symptom, excreting those white and clear worm things in their waste. Two months ago or so, I used some medicated food for internal parasites. ( http
/www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod...fm?pcatid=12788 ) That helped a lot. Most of my fish fattened up, and started having fry again. (Too much fry!
)
But my fish never ever stopped excreting those clear worm things in their feces.
All of the fry they have have the same white/clear poop, and some even have sunken in stomachs when they are born. I always treat with that medicated food, and it gets rid of everything wrong except for the poop.
Now one of my female platys has these red callamunus worms sticking out of her rear end when she stops swimming, and despite the medicated food & external water treatments, they won't go away, and I'm scared that she's going to infect the rest of the tank, including the fry she will be having next week. I don't have anywhere to isolate her, either. 103E3014.jpg (1.0 MB)
I'm waiting to get the 55 gallon tank.
Could this white/clear poop just be some sort of bacterial infection? Because that's the only symptom my fish show, besides that one platy.
I have some medicated anti-bacterial fish food, but I'm hesitant to use it. It seems like a parasitical infestation my fish have, but nothing is getting rid of it.
Here are some things people will probably ask me:
Tank size: Adults are in two 10 gallons, & fry are in a 16 gallon.
Water stats: ammonia - 0ppm nitrite - 0ppm nitrate - 20ppm ph - 7.5 (And each tank is the same, but the nitrate is off by about 5ppm in one tank.)
Fish: Look at sig.
Disease treatments being used: Jungle parasite clear, ( http
/www.pondproductreviews.com/Parasiti...dies-p-520.html ) This stuff works great for me, I've been using it for like, 2 years already. I use it everytime my fish get a parasites. (Mostly external.) And I've always overdosed, (by accident, cause I thought my 16 gallon was a 20 gallon...) but my fish are and were always fine.
I also use that medicated food above.
Thanks in advance for any help!
