I bought a fishtank recently with malawis in, I noticed a few had quite sunken belly's but just thought they weren't getting enough food, ive been feeding them all well on flake and veg but there's been no change so after a quick Google ive realised they more than likely have internal parasites, and ive stupidly put a few of the new ones in my other two tanks :-(
Whats the best meds to treat them, will have to do all three tanks, one has a holding female and one has a load of fry so it needs to be safe for use on the fry and the holding female

Im in the uk

Thanks :)

Sunkned bellies could be lack of food as well as internal parasites, What colour is there poo? If it's clear and stringy it's more than likely parasites but if it looks normal it's more likely a bad diet.

Their poo is healthy looking not at all long and stringy or off colour so thats good to hear

They had obviously not been very well looked after, the tank came with the gravel and some water still in it and the water was black!!! Took me ages to clean the gravel, even found a screw in there and a few fish skeletons :-(

Will keep up the feeding schedule and see how they get on

Thanks for the input :)
