I've kept them twice, and they are extraordinarily interesting how they slide along rocks. That is a fish wonderfully adapted to fast water.
I never got them to breed, and it's one I'd jump at a chance to try again.
Pierre Brichard (1921-1990) had 12 species named after him. He was a Belgian fish collector, exporter and conservationist based in the Congo originally, and most famous for his work on Lake Tanganyika's Cichlids.
He did a lot of neat things, and had one early, important fishbook. A lot of African fish arrived in the hobby from his exporting stations.
