Hi All

I would like to know how to best position my intake and spraybar in my 240L tank. or would it be best to not use a spray bar ??

i have an eheim 2078 prof 3e filter

and i have 4 x 6000 lph wavemakers for water movement. ( i will only be using 2)

Can i position the intake and outake at the same end of the tank as i need to keep the pipes as short as possible to get the best flow rate from my filter.

I will be injecting co2 with and inline diffuser (aqua grow 1500)

When i did a leak test i only got 550 lph output.

did a test in kitchen sink and was getting the 1065 ( the max setting on filter) and this had no media inside either also i used 2 short pipes rather than what i have set up.

Thanks All

This a rife topic, filter flow.

The filter flow advertsied is minus media, so its never going to be what you would expect.

Nothing wrong with picking up and dumping back from the same side. I would knock the spraybar of and just use a nozzle going back in.

6000lph is a pretty strong Powehead. I would set them in opposite corners of the tank. One where the pickup and outlet is, and one in its opposite diagonal corner. Set the filter outlet a few inches under the surface aimed at the surface to give good surface movement for oxygenation, and the powerhead aimed slightly downwards, creating a circulation to et the waste to the filter inlet.

Hope this helps :)
