well Ian's letting me re-scape and basically take over his 5g PFK aquacube cos he's concentrating on his big tank and i'm having to re-home quite a few of my fish so needed something more positive to focus on.

I had a really lovely gnarly bit of wood that's been sat in a cupboard for months, we really liked it so bought it then couldn't find anywhere to use it. So I thought I'd use that, had a lovely scape that I was starting to formulate in my mind.... then I came downstairs to find the bit of wood in Ian's big tank and him doing puppy dog eyes at me

so he's promised me some red moor wood for the tank, which looks lovely, however i'm stumped as to how to use it in a scape, so I was wondering if anyone's got any in they're tanks and if you can post pics for a bit of inspiration.

thanks :D

sam that was exactly what i needed! Got my whole scape sorted in my head now and if I do say so myself I reckon you'd be impressed!! :good:

Haha  cool glad to be of service (of a source ;)) its just a case of getting the idea down underwater now, that's always the bit I find tricky! There are some truly amazing scapes in that competition, no end of ideas for things to do.

it's just going to be finding exactly the right bits of wood for it I think. going to have a measure up tonight and get the rough dimensions of them then take it from there.

yeah there are I doubt mine will be on that level! some amazing looking tanks there. But I think this will be the best i've done.

Yeh the wood can make or break a scape, I've yet to find a shop that does decent wood, I find myself just buying any pieces I like the look of in the hope that one day they'll be 'that perfect bit' for a scape I do, I've got lots of wood at home
