aint come across that one, before. but they are only, really, of use, if you have some sort of water problem. as it kills bacteria that come into contact, with the light. long term or permanent use is, probably, not advisable. (in fresh water aquarium, anyway). its also worth checking how much the "replacement" bulbs are too. they need changed, fairly, regularly. so if they cost too much. the unit becomes not so much of a bargain.

a UV steriliser of any kind is pretty unnecessary if you are only keeping freshwater species.

Also the bulbs with this model are not familar to me and a quick google brings up nothing of any help so may prove hard to source

In ponds - they are great at reducing the amount of floating algae (green water).. but in aquariums you're probably better off just keeping an eye out for algae and reducing daylight hours.

did wonder about it doing anything it tanks, where as in a pond i could understand i.e green water.
