I have one injured little pygmy cory - he was the smaller of the 3 and the poor thing has a injury in the middle section, and the bottom half of its tailfin missing. Is there anything I can do to help it? I carefully separated him and put him in a breeding trap as i dont have a hospital tank. The other fish keep going upto the bottom though where hes resting - is this going to stress him? I dont want him to die, would just like to get him better !!

He wont enjoy being isolated, if there is no sign of bacterial infection or fungus I would put him back in the main tank and keep on top of water change/gravel vac to keep potential pathogens down

I couldnt leave him in the main tank, the other fish were crowding round him, and him being the weaker of all my fish I didnt see the point of putting him through that kind of stress. It was an open wound that was the cause of the red patch - just spotted it when I was netting him out the breeding trap.
