Initial Stocking Of Fish

I have a topic running in the beginners section re our fishless cycle which in its third phase, Waterdrop has been looking after us with help and advice but a comment WD has made about the initial stocking of a tank which was not to have cardinals/neons until the tank is mature enough (6 months).

With this in mind is there any other fish we should avoid initially?

We were going to start with some minnows and penguin tetras at first, will these guys be ok?

The minnows and penguin tetras should be fine. Some corys can be a little sensitive to a newly established tank. I think you will be safe with your suggestion.
