Info On Hydra, Please

I think I may have just seen a hydra in my tank.
It looked like a tiny white dot with two tiny white lines coming off it, which didn't seem to be attached so I can only assume that there was a clear part of the body between the two.
It was really, really small, and it was flittering about by the glass when me and my mum saw it, but it then swam away.
Is this a hydra or could it be fry?
All the information on hydra that you can give is much appriciated.

Dont sound like Hydra if it swam away.
Hydra attach themselves to any stationary surface, you will most likely witness them on your aquarium glass.
They will soon reach plague proportions if left untreated and can be a danger to small fry.
Having said that I still dont believe you have Hydra but you never know.
Hydra can be totally eradicated using Flubendazole 5% powder.

After reading more on them, I don't think it's hydra either, since it only had 2 little 'tentacles'
I'm starting to think it was probably just a speck of something.

Yea theres one in case you hadn't found any pics, if you had got them then that would have been a pain, they can be extremely hard to get rid of. I had one that came in from the lfs, thankfully i got rid of it before it wreaked havoc, sice then i have never used that lfs for plants ever again.
