Info Needed.

Jonny,

Nightmare mate. Sorry to hear about the deaths. You can relax regarding replacements though, the females are obviously gravid (pregnant) and as the female stores sperm you will still get plenty more drops. Even without males so you are almost 100% certain to be able to keep the colony going without buying more fish. If I were you I would leave them for the winter and worry about getting more stocks in the Spring.

Failing that, get yourself along to the next auction at the beginning of December in Redditch and see if you can pick some up there.

I recall that the nezzys at the auction went for less than £5 for a pair by the way.

why would you use waterlife protozin ahead of IP?

I prefer protozin as i use it often (course when it's needed) but i've never had a problem using it the active ingredient is formalin which is the best thing to flush the gills as well

Thanks Duncan, yeh i'm going to give it a while and i want to make sure the new setup is disease free before i buy more fish. I'm deffinately going to go down to Redditch, for the nezzies but mainly to try and find some Procatopus Nototaenia. Also keeping a eye out for limia melanogaster, moscow blue guppies and red hi-fin red eyes, hopefully i'll get lucky

starting to become quite common, i guess they'v been around for a while now. Were these adults?

They have been common for quite a while, you just need to get into the wild livebearer scene (BLA, www.livingfish.co.uk, etc etc) and then you will be able to get hold of many species which are supposedly rare quite easily and far cheaper than £12 per fish.

Yeah, this was a pair of adults. It was quite an effort to get any bids on them, no one really wanted them.

They been around for years yes but they are still a rare fish ad their was only 1 pair that i noticed, which was a good sized adult pair.
The other's u should see but sure about Procatopus Nototaenia, the red eye red's don't show often although their was 2 pair's in Nottingham but they was the normal short fin's.

Even if u dont find Procatopus Nototaenia i'm sure you r meet some one who had contacts their though.

thanks fellas. To be honest i'm almost past what these fish will bring (money wise), i just love 'em - well worth the money i paid. I guess i'll be seeing you both in redditch then, if you hear of anyone selling the killi's PM me yeh, cheers.
