I don't think anything will come of this spawn. THey are already distracted from the eggs and fighting with each other.

You see, the male went to eat while the female was stuck hungry with the eggs. He forgot to switch it up.


I never had hopes in it, so won't be disappointed. This is my first spawn of any fish. I've only had Platy fry. I am just happy to see it. Tolak gave me baby brine shrimp tips and I'll be setting up a test run.

congratulations though!! I think rams can be notoriously bad parents to start with... as they age and spawn more often they become better parents

haha Thanks Guys. I'm just delighted today! Even convinced the hubby to break our Saturday cocktail tradition and bring out the rum to celebrate

One more Video. That's it I swear. The Momma is guarding her eggs with her life and will not allow the male to come near. Too bad she isn't in her own tank. He is in the doghouse as shown in the video. I counted about 130 eggs and gave up.

I have a feeling this is because of them morning fighting. He was a little rough with her and she is showing him who is boss now.

At 00:57 I zoom in on my little deformed cory. His body is dented in behind his gill. Been like that since I got him.
