I've had my 125 litre juwel setup going for nearly 2 years. I had some problems about a year ago with fatalities (dwarf gourami's & guppies). Since they died I kept my cory's and neons whic have been fine. I decided to leave it like this so that there was no hance of overstocking. Everything's been fine with no fatalities since. I do regular water changes and tests and my water quality is perfect. When talking to oter members of this forum and also friends the fish I had tat died may have been purcased uhealthy/weak strain e.t.c

I've recently (3 days ago) introduced some Indian Gourami. 2 which I think are both male.

As I had the cory's and the neons I wanted something a little bigger.

In the shop they seemed great. Really active. Looked very healthy (still do). I introduced them into the tank in the normal way. I.E lights off, in the bag, gradually introducing tank water to the bag, then after about 50 minutes let them in. I kept the lights off for a few more hours then turned them on. te lights were only on for about 2 hours before my timer switched them off.

Now the (problem?) They seem very shy! When I approach the tank they either swim erraticaly or dive under the bogwood in my tank. I've tried approaching te tank really slowly, even more than usual but as soon as they see me they seem to freak!

I'm worried they're stressed for some reason, and I'm not sure why.I put some food in then go almost out of the room and eventually they come up and feed. Seems weird. All my other fish are fine.

Any help/advice greatly appreciated!

John

Thanks for the reply.

I've put a few more live plants in as I tought it would give them some more cover.

They seem much better this evening, swimming around and not hiding so much. They are really stunning. Their pectoral fins are so pretty.
