What happens if I put indian almond leaves in a swordtail tank?
Will it be beneficial for the tank or it will just kill the swordtails?

I've done some research about the leaves lowering Ph, how will this affect the swordtails?

It won't kill your swordies, but it would reduce the pH, which swordtails don't like. Better leave them out, IMO.

Ah I see. The thing that made me want to use it is because of the claims that the leaves make fishes healthy.

Maybe for fish that like soft, acid water it would but not for fish like swordies that prefer hard, slightly alkaline water :good:

Guys, I am new to the forum and this is my first post.

I'm from Asia which means I have lots and lots of Indian Almond tree around my house. I got new leaves from the tree 3 days back. I washed it nicely. Can I add them to my betta tank? I am asking this because the leaves are not dried. It is bit greeny.

Any tips/help?

Thanks.

Let them dry out completely before you add them to your tank or they will rot too quickly.

Thanks.

However, I was just curious to know, even if I add green leaves to the tank, it won't affect or kill my fish and improves water quality and PH?

I don't worry if the leaf is getting rotten as I have tree around me :D. May be I can pick one more if I want any time :D.

Thanks.

If the leaves aren't 100% dry they will rot and cause pollution. They will do more harm than good.
