Hello

I have an empty 10 gallon, and one day while staring at it wondering what i could do with it, i came up with an idea that sounds hard, but i'm gonna try.

The resources i have at the moment are:

Some Pea Gravel and Some aquatic compost

Basically i need a hill :/ How you think i should go about making a hill? I could invert a bowl of something like that and put the substrate on top. Or maybe use big stones that i have in my garden. ?. Also can anyone think of a small grass plant i could use on the hill as a carpet? And then another grass plant for the long grass?

Any ideas?

Ok, i'm starting to like Riccia for the hill. I cant remmeber where ive heard it but, i heard it does something after while thats bad? :/

you have to replant riccia, whereas if you went for java moss you don't have to replant it.

well i think that's it.

:good:

I'm sure it won't be that hard mate, just getting the right plants will be the hard part. I'd use java moss for the short grass, and i'm not sure about the long grass but i've seen some similar type of things in other peoples tank but I don't know what it's called. You'd probably have to get an algae eater of some sort, as it doesn't look like your going to be using many fast growing plants. Read all the begginer topics on where to start. You could also you slate and things for a hill, just section it off and build up your substrate on the designated area, you will need a little extra substrate though. If you have a look at a few posts, try and look for the 'pro' tanks that have been appearing on this forum lately, it shows you how they have made hills, and trust me i'd give an arm and a leg for my tank to look like one of theirs, although it would be hard work keeping up with the tank, especially with only 1 arm!
