I would really like to have an external heater on my new tank and the only one I've managed to find so far is the Hydor In-Line Thermal Heater which would be perfect except.......it states that it's for 16mm pipes and the pipes on the Fluvals are 17mm. Any suggestions please.

That will fit fine. The 16mm is the external size of the heater connection, fluvals 17mm is the external size of the pipe if im not mistaken which means the internal size would be 16mm. I used this heater with my fluval, but I purchased clear pipe.

I would say its safe to buy it, worst case is you would have to buy some clear pipe off ebay which is cheap.

hope this helps.

Thank you, I'll give it a go then :)

Yea its worth it, If I was you I would purchase the clear hose off ebay and keep the fluval hose incase you decide to sell it also if you cut it and it does not fit its wasted.

Here's the hose I used: 16mm clear hose/ 2 metres
