Love this forum, everyone has soooo much experience and loads of different fish (i can't imagine where some of you keep all your fish!! )

As a newbie to the forum and to fish keeping ( ) ), are there any good websites you can reccommend for me to look at when i see (read in a signature) a fish that i haven't heard of?

Well, there is aquadex.info, which has a LOT of species and can therefore be a good place to start. But, from what I've seen the info isn't always 100% correct, so check somewhere else too.
