I just wanted to share these pics and the speed at which some fish can repair them selves. I bought the fish in question Metriaclima sp. "Aurora Yellow” two weeks ago. When I initially bought the fish, they where all looking a little bit moth eaten, particularly the larger fish. In the first picture (sorry about the quality) you can see that all the fins have damage of some form or another. The tail is particularly bad with a large section of it missing.

The second picture is taken 8 days later. The point of this post I suppose is just to show my amazement at the speed at which some fish can regenerate and repair themselves. As you can see from the second pic, every fin is back to the way it should be.

Maybe this is nothing new to the more experienced fish keeper but since I am a new at the game I just thought it was interesting.

They are lovely little fish. I had one for a couple of years in a mixed Mbuna tank with some pretty aggressive fish and he did get picked on occasionally but he was one of the most personable fish i've ever kept, always active and happy.

:flowers: I find it endearing when newbies come across some of the amazing things we old crusty keepers have known about for a long time, it reminds me when I first got into the hobby.
