A betta really wouldn't last 10 minutes in a tank like that, fish like RTBS and tiger barbs are far too agressive, competetive for food and active for a betta to have any chance of surviving and thriving in a community like that  .

Bettas aren't compatible with any of your fish, so... no.
Get yourself a nice 2.5 gallon and you can have one by himself though ;)

Oh come on... you know you want another tank..... (MTS, gets us all in the end  ).

As said above, I would think there were two risks with putting a betta with the barbs. One would be that he really is too much of a temptation and they do start nipping, even though they've always been good before.

The other is that he gets stressed out with their constant activity and gets elbowed out of the way at feedtimes. Even if you feed him separately, stress could still be a health hazard.

But a nice little betta tank of maybe 2-3 gallons...would hardly take up any space at all.... he'd have a lovely life in there

bettas and barbs are a bad choice, and bettas and gouramis are a bad choice, and adding fish to overstocked tanks is a bad idea, enjoy what you have, if you push too far you end up with less to enjoy and more work to do.

Less is more
