Astatilapia Brownae 4.5cm

Astatilapia Latifasciata 4.5cm

Melanochromis Johanni 4cm

Aulonocara Korneliae 4.5cm

Red Jacobfreibergi (Firebird) Peacock 5cm

Xystichromis Phytophagus 4.5cm

i plan to put them in my 4 foot tank/160litre together what do use think? only 1 of each by the way :good:

Certainly a risky combination - you are planning to mix Mbuna, peacocks and Victoria cichlids in a smallish 4 foot tank.

They have vastly differing behaviour and dietary requirements - For example the Johanni are far more aggressive than all the other species you have listed. Also the Johanni and Xystichromis Phytophagus are Herbivores wheras the other species are all Carnivores so feeding would be tricky at best.

Not impossible but i wouldn't reccommend it unless you have prior experience of some if not all of these species.

okay i have picked out some other fish what do use think about these?
Astatilapia Latifasciata 4.5cm Astatilapia Brownae 4.5cm Oto Lithobates Sulphur Crest 3.5cm Pseudotropheus Hajomaylandi 4.5cm

:good: MUCH BETTER!!!! :good:

A hint though, keep an eye on your Lithobates, later when they've matured fully and are looking GORGEOUS they can be bully-ish. not to the point of killing anything really just a rough guy in the croud B)
got any plans of getting a bigger tank later? the lithobates will outgrow that tank in a few years easily.

I think you will just have to try it as its such an odd mix, I have kept the Astatilapia Brownae and i found them aggressive but they would loose against my mbuna and would not learn that they would get injured every time in the end i had to remove them. I think you will find they fight the same as mbuna by lip locking but there mouth is no were near as strong as a mbuna.

The Astatilapia Brownae is often confused with the sp44 which is a lot more common

Yes they are all Mbuna.

I would drop the Auratus and Johanni. M.Auratus are extremely aggressive and you are likely to have serious problems if you include them in a Mbuna community tank. M.Johanni are too similar in appearance to the M.Maingano so you would need to choose between the 2 species - i would reccommend sticking with the Maingano as they are generally less aggressive and just as colourful.

Fuelleborni can be aggressive and get quite large but i have kept them in various Mbuna communities without any serious problems so i don't see a major issue with them and that stocking list. :good:

i haved made up a new order and im just wondering what use think about it, here goes:

1 x Melanochromis Johanni 4cm
1 x Labeotropheus Fuelleborni 4.5cm
1 x Cynotilapia Afra Cobwe 4cm
1 x Melanochromis Chipokae 4.5cm
3 x electric yellows (Labs)
2 electric blues, i do not know what sort they are, i do know they are mbuna`s...:)

will these fish be good tank mates?

I wouldn't go for Chipokae - mixing Melanochromis is risky at best and Chipokae are arguably the most aggressive Mbuna species there is.

Find the correct name for the electric Blues as that common name can cover numerous different species. The most commonly called EB are Sciaenochromis Ahli or Fryeri, which would both be a no in that size tank with Mbuna unfortunately.

The labs would be fine.

i cannot find the name for the electric blue`s though here is a pic and some info on it: visit this link: [url="http://"%20livefish.com.au

It's a no i'm afraid - Sciaenochromis Fryeri are Haps, not Mbuna. They get too big for your tank and are tricky to mix with Mbuna - Sorry :/

Have a look at Pseudotropheus Saulosi (Mbuna) - they would suit your tank better as they stay small and have stunning colouration. Males are black and blue and females are yellow/orange - lovely fish. :good:

okay thanks very mutch, are the Chipokae good to breed? as in easy to breed and expesive?

They are easy to breed and usually fairly cheap (in the UK at least). The problem is that they are incredibly aggressive and maturing juveniles are likely to be killed by adults if kept in the same tank so seperate tanks are a must.

okay just to lets use know i am going to get these fish:

3 x electric yellow 4cm $36
1 x Cynotilapia Afra Cobwe 4cm $44.00
2 x Labeotropheus Fuelleborni 4.5cm $26.40
3 x Melanochromis Johanni 4cm $35.07

i will be adding more of the same species soon:)
