Well by golly, I cannot figure out what kind of fish these are for the life of me. I feel very silly... usually my research pays off, but not this time. :*) Anyways, these fish are on the cover of a new book my parents got for me, and it does not say anywhere what they are. I am quite positive they're a type of danio, but I've never seen any that are blue and red like these. They don't look very large either, as compared to the barb behind them. Anybody? :)

Wow, you have got to be right, and I couldn't feel any sillier. I guess the ones I've seen just didn't look like that. :*)

Thanks Sorrell.

Edit: However, I feel a little better now that I know, because I want some. I might have to grab a pair or something next time I see them. Now I know how pretty they can be when they're healthy.

Don't feel silly ya goof! You should know by know I can't stand a mystery! :p
I saw this post go up and I had my books out...glad I found it pretty fast, I was getting flustered! :fun: I don't think I've seen one in person that looks like that...so I had to do some digging too, but that's gotta be it

edit: That's funny, I was just thinking, "What tank could I put those in?"

thought it might be..

jus a very bright picture tho.. so they look a lot diff then others you might have seen

Remember also, that a brief tour with PhotoShop Pro can enhance many a pictue. I am sure they are Pearls, but equally sure that the picture has been touched up. The Barbus pentazona in the background is nice.

That's how I ended up finding it! I saw the barb in the background and thought, "Ok, find a muted down version of that fish" ;)

Their not dyed, Pearls can be quite colorful when the light strikes them the right way. :)
