I guess I'll just introduce myself. =)

I have 3 tanks, a ten gallon, a 14g and a 29g half hexagon. I'm only using the 29g and th 14 g right now though. In the 29g tank I have 3 cherry barbs (I'm trying to get rid of them but no one seems to want them and I really don't want to abandon them to some petstore somewhere), they practically have ten gallons each. Haha. In the 14g I have 3 false juli corydoras, a betta and a snail. The betta gets a long fine with the snail, he's not aggressive at all, so don't worry. =)

My main reason for joining is that I would like to learn more about caring for my snail. I got her a week ago but I realized after I got her that I really don't know very much about them. I'd like to get a boy soon and do some little experiments with colors and stuff but I want to make sure I can care for them properly first.

Howdee & Welcome :)

Snails are easy to keep, just give them clean water with the appropriate temperature and feed them. Most are hermaphrodites containing male and female sex organs so you only need 2 to get them going. Some species have separate sexes and you need to buy a group of 6-10 in order to get males and females.

Snails will eat virtually anything ranging from algae, fish food, fruit & vegetables like apple, carrot, pumpkin, zucchini, etc.

Don't use copper based medications in a tank containing snails because it will kill them.

I guess I should have mentioned that right? =P Silly me.
I'm pretty sure she's an ivory apple snail.
