Hello everyone.
I'm new on here and have purchased a second-hand Juwel Trigon 190 last month.
My wife bought me a Reef One Bi-Orb back in April as well.
It has been quite some time since I kept an aquarium as a kid at my parents' house but the missus finally relented and I, along with the kids, have been particularly excited by the new additions to our home.
Have you any helpful advice and tips, particularly for the Trigon, which you think may be of use to me as fish keeping and the style of aquariums are vastly different to what I had around 15 years ago.
Through the Juwel website and off the internet I have had to find all the set-up info as the aquarium came with no manual/instructions.
Everything seems to have been a success but I guess only time will really tell - I have gradually been introducing fish into the tank (Corydoras, loaches, glowlight tetras and zebra danios).
Any do's or don'ts?
Tips on cleaning and maintenance.
Any experiences you think may be of use to me?
Thanks for any help,

Buy a liquid test kit!! This will help for us on here to help you along the way with certain things. Such as cycling and possible other fish problems.

Take a look at this link HERE! As this is a link of people from here willing to donate mature filter media to help your tank cycle. The cycling of your tank is the nitrogen cycle. (<if you know about that already Great!) If not you can make a post down in the "New to the hobby" forum and much more help will be given there.

Welcome fellow Mackem...... I've also got the Trigon 190 and its a great tank but we've got the bi-orb tucked away in the garage now.
The filter on the trigon (and indeed most Juwels) isn't very good - media clogs up easily and its also really bulky - replacing that with a decent external filter is a great way to go and also allows you to increase the stock levels (which this tank really needs because of its surface footprint). The glass has a tendency to scratch really easily so be careful if using a scraper/magnetic algae.

Other than that, Juwel tanks are great - reliable and a doddle to maintain (a stetch to get to the back of a trigon though).

hi,im just wondering if anyone has had any problems cycling juwel trigons? Ive been doing the daily add of ammonia for 3 months now and still no luck!!!

I didn't have any problem cycling mine, but have to be honest, I didn't do the fishless cycle (never knew about it when I got my tank a couple of years ago) - there are a few on here with good experience of fishless cycling though and sure one of them can help.
