2 things are REALLY annoying me now!
1) BGA. I did the whole black out thing, and changing my tank set up, but its back!
I couldnt work out why i was getting BGA in the first place as all the 'criteria' for getting it was covered, but just to make sure, i added a couple power heads, bumped up my CO2 and made sure my lights were only on for 6 hours a day.
Now i have 80PPM Nitrate, two 1200l/h filters which are cleaned out weekly, two 900l/h power heads, my CO2 is near yellow all the time (does not seem to drop over night) Its a 360L tank BTW
BUT STILL THE BGA RETURNS!!!! Please help!
2) I have Eleocharis parvula which just does not grow! My CO2 is high (as above) i does EI ferts..... but nothing! I got a new batch to place between the plugs i currently have to hurry along any growth. But i noticed that when i put the new ones in, they were a lovely light green. But what is in my tank has turned a dark green/brown colour. I have two 48W tubes, although they share a purpose built reflector, so i believe this reduces their effectiveness a bit? It sits about 30 inches from the substrate. More light needed maybe?
I have java moss on my bog wood. Now this is meant to grow like crazy, but its not growing that fast at all! Some things, like when i had Eleocharis Vivipara, or another large leafed plant that was put in my tank a couple days ago will flourish, and double in size every week! But my Parvula just does not move! Ever!
Suggestions please?!
