actually, my camera was very cheap. its a canon powershot a570is. i had gotten it as a christmas present for about $150. its really a great camera. the thing i love most about it is that it has an aquarium setting for taking pictures of fish and tanks. on the setting, i make sure the flash is on and put on the macro setting. thats about it.

hey guys just thought i'd update:

well after giving birth to 3 fry, i placed the still-pregnant female in my empty nursery tank. she stayed in there for a few weeks but she never gave birth again. unfortunately her "husband" died a month after she was removed from the tank. since i didn't have to worry about him harassing her anymore, i placed her back in my 10 gallon community. about 2 weeks ago, i found she had given birth to the rest of her fry. after some intent patience, i was able to rescue about 10 dwarf platy fry from the tank. i put them in the nursery tank along with some guppy fry. here they are as of today:

*don't mind the filthy tank, still looking for a good way to get stubborn algae off of acrylic.

awwwww so cute! one of my platys gave birth last week, every day im finding more and more fry hiding around the tank. i tend to suck them out with a hose rather than trying to net them. much quicker and easier!
