Ikea and me

my friend gave me 2 bags of sand.

i figured i would use them to make the subtrate level in my aquarium higher for my plants.

well the sand is from ikea and it is labelled as florera.

one bag has green sand the other has blue sand.

the only thing it says is.

'colour may come off'

if i clean it really well like i do with play sand will i be able to put it in my tank, or should i go to walamrt today and buy some more play sand? or pool filter sand?

tell me since if i dont get enough responses im gonna clean it and put it in my tank at 3pm

I also wouldn't put it in your tank. It doesn't sound safe for aquariums

i wouldnt if i was you.it proberbly had chemicals in it which will harm the fish

If the bag says the color may come off you could have some
dyes slowly seeping into the water. They may not be harmful
but it is much better to be safe than sorry.

good point, ill just stick to play sand....my amazon swords are doing alirhgt?

You could try a 'test' tank, use a tupperware thingumy or something. Or just not bother. It doesn't seem safe to me.
